LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Athletes of a unique sporting event in Las Vegas set a world record 480 feet high up by walking practically on air Wednesday.

The organizers of the World Slackline Federation World Cup Finals said four of the sport's best athletes completed a high line walk outside the 63rd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

The stunt set the world record for the longest urban high line walk, organizers said. The walk featured a 480-foot high, 460-foot long slackline running parallel to the Las Vegas Strip.

Andy Lewis, who was noted for his role in the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show, was among the four slackliners.

The stunt served as the kick-off event for the slackline world championship set to take place inside the Michael Jackson One Theater at Mandalay Bay on Thursday.
