Fans will get their first extended glimpse of the University of
Hawaii men's basketball team when it holds its Green & White Scrimmage on
Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Stan Sheriff Center. The event begins at 7:00 p.m.
and admission is free.
Following player introductions, the Rainbow Warriors will conduct an intra-squad scrimmage, which will include two 20-minutes halves. The team will also have a dunk contest at halftime of the scrimmage. At the conclusion of the evening, fans will get the chance to meet the players and coaches with an autograph session.
The Rainbow Warriors,are more than two weeks into training camp and have been conducting official practices in preparation for this season since Sept. 30. Six returning letterwinners, four returning redshirts and seven newcomers make up this year's Rainbow Warriors squad, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Gib Arnold. Among the returnees are senior forward Christian Standhardinger, a first-team all-league selection, and Isaac Fotu, last year's Big West Co-Freshman of the Year.
UH will host BYU-Hawai'i in an exhibition on Halloween Night, before opening the 2013-14 regular season against Tennessee State on Nov. 8 in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Rainbow Classic.
