2 arrested after armed robbery near BGSU

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Bowling Green Police have arrested two men they believe are responsible for an aggravated robbery last week near Bowling Green State University's campus.

Thomas James, 21, and Thomas Kolleh, 19 have both been arrested on charges of aggravated robbery. The charges stem from Tuesday's incident at 524 North Enterprise, where two men were robbed inside their apartment by three suspects with a handgun.

Police say the robbery was drug-related and the suspects fled the scene with marijuana and cash. BGSU sent an alert to students, warning them of the suspects on the run.

James was arrested soon after and charged Friday. Kolleh was arrested Monday around 1:30 p.m. Both suspects are students at BGSU, which has caused concern for other students.

"It has never really happened on a scale like that before, so it is kind of concerning," said Morgan Palmucci, a student. "Are they living in the dorms? Do they have a gun in the dorms? That's kind of like a safety concern for everybody."

BGSU released the following statement about the arrests:

"Bowling Green State University is aware of the arrests of two students - Thomas Kolleh and Thomas James. In addition to the criminal charges, the two men will be subject to the university disciplinary process outlined in the Student Code of Conduct."

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
