Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - The 5th ranked Rainbow Wahine volleyball team was stunned Friday night after losing in five sets to unranked UC-Santa Barbara (25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 22-25, 15-12).
The loss dropped Hawaii's record to 15-2 and snapped a 13-match win streak for the Bows'. It also snapped a string of 77-conference match victories (including both the WAC and BWC) and marked the first time Hawaii had lost a Big West conference match since 1994.
All-American outside hitter Emily Hartong led the way for UH with a team-high 20-kills.
Next up for Hawaii is a match against Cal Poly, Saturday night at 7pm.
