AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Hundreds of residents gathered in Pearl City on Tuesday for an update on the Honolulu rail transit project.

HART hosted the meeting at Pearl Highlands Elementary to share the latest design plans for rail stations at Pearl Highlands, Pearlridge and Aloha Stadium.

Many of those who attended the meeting expressed concerns about the traffic that is likely to come with construction.

"This project is going to help fix [traffic], but while we're building on the highway traffic is going to get a lot worse," said Robert Brown.

HART officials say they plan on using feedback from the meeting to make any necessary adjustments to the rail stations.
