Community Care Connection: Project Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Our nonprofit agency is run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our mission is to enhance the lives of homeless keiki on both the islands of O'ahu and Big Island of Hawai'i.

Our summer camp is a vital part to the over all success of our keiki escaping the cycle of poverty. Most poverty stricken children will never leave their tiny environment and experience the wonders of their own island. So, Project Hawai'i offers our Adventures Abound Day camp to take the children to educational places, such as the Honolulu Zoo, the Aquarium and this year we are taking them on an dolphin adventure. During the camp, these children learn the basic social and life skills they need to succeed. We need the community to help by taking on a challenge of sponsoring an adventure, providing the camp transportation needs, or even their back to school supplies. There are several dozen ways to make a difference in the lives of homeless keiki on our islands.
