HONOLULU (AP) - A woman killed in a weekend fall along Kaau Crater Trail was a 23-year-old University of Hawaii graduate student.
The state medical examiner says Kaitlan Prugger died Saturday when she fell 30 to 35 feet into a waterfall pool along the trail in Palolo.
The death was classified as accidental.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports Prugger was hiking with two others above the first waterfall on the trail.
A Honolulu Fire Department report says Prugger tried to take a picture looking down the falls and apparently lost her footing.
