Hawaii's Carissa Moore captured the 2013 Association of Surfing Professionals Women's World Championships today in Portugal.

The 21-year old defeated 19-year old Tyler Wright of Australia.

Moore entered the EDP Cascais Girls Pro - the eighth and final event on the women's tour - with a 200 point lead over Wright. However, when Wright was defeated in the quarterfinals and Moore was still standing into the semis, it was official.

This was Moore's second ASP Women's World Championships. She captured the title back in 2011.

We will have more on Moore's victory on Hawaii News Now at 5 p.m. on KGMB.
