OBERLIN, Ohio, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today more than 1,800 college stores across North America are celebrating the third annual National Student Day. Sponsored by the National Association of College Stores (NACS), National Student Day is an annual event that seeks to celebrate and promote students' social responsibility.
As part of National Student Day, NACS holds a national contest in which students can submit stories chronicling the way they gave back to their community. Prizes include scholarships and iPad minis. The contest remains open through Oct. 17, 2013, at midnight EST.
"Today many participating college stores are hosting special events, from author signings to special sales; from bringing exceptional student volunteers to the store for recognition to charity drives - the variety is exciting," said Brian Cartier, CAE, NACS chief executive officer. "And, it's all just to say thank you!"
