Fatal car crash in Paint Township

PAINT TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

The Wooster Highway Patrol Post is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on October 2, at 6:30 a.m.  The two vehicle crash happened on State Route 94 north of Milepost 1 in Paint Township.  (South of Western Road.)

Kenneth Bolin, 45, of Rittman, Ohio was driving his 2003 Ford Focus southbound on State Route 94.  Bolin traveled off the right side of the roadway and re-entered the roadway.  He went left of the center and was struck on the right passenger side by the driver of a truck.  Logan Mast, 50, of Millersburg, was driving a 1998 Dodge 3500 truck.  Mast continued off the left side of the roadway striking a ditch and a fence.

Bolin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner.  Mast was transported to Aultman Hospital.  Both men were wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash.

ODOT, Star American Towing Services and Paint Township Fire Department assisted on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.  Authorities say that alcohol and speed are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
