HONOLULU - Junior forward Tiana Fujimoto scored her second game-winning goal in as many matches to lift the University of Hawai'i women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Hawai'i Pacific Wednesday at the UH Lower Campus Soccer Field.

With HPU hunkering down for the entire match, the Rainbow Wahine finally broke through in the 84th minute when Fujimoto found the back of the net off a T.J. Reyno assist. It was Fujimoto's team-high sixth goal of the season and fourth game-winner. She also scored the golden goal just three days ago in UH's overtime win at Northern Arizona.

It wasn't a pretty win for UH (5-4) who out-shot the Sea Warriors (2-3) by a 22-3 margin but couldn't score until near the end of regulation. Freshman Monk Berger recorded her second straight shutout and fourth of the season as HPU's defensive strategy afforded limited threats to the UH goal.

The Rainbow Wahine held possession for the majority and played nearly the entire duration on the HPU side of the field. UH held a 12-1 shot advantage at the break-among the missed opportunities by the Bows in the first half was a shot by Storm Kenui off the post and a shot by Chelsea Miyake that bounced off the cross bar.

The Rainbow Wahine continued to have opportunities in the second half, but it was only after Reyno-who missed the last five matches due to injury-helped create the game-winner for the 'Bows. Less than five minutes after checking in, the freshman midfielder slid a back pass to Fujimoto, who fired a beautiful left-footer from 20 yards out that grazed just inside the right post.

The Rainbow Wahine improved to a perfect 11-0 against their crosstown rival in the closest margin in the series since a 1-0 UH victory in 1999.

UH next opens league play on the road with a pair of Big West matches at Cal State Fullerton (Oct. 4) and UC Riverside (Oct. 6).
