Flood Advisory expires for west side of Big Island

The Flood Advisory will expire at 5:15 pm for the island of Hawaii in Hawaii County. Weather Radar And rain gages showed that the heavy rains have ended. Thus the Flood Advisory is allowed to expire.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of the Big Island until 5:15 pm.

  • At 3:42 p.m. radar and rain gauges showed locally heavy showers falling at rates of up to 2 inches per hour along the slopes of the South Kona District.

  • Other locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Keahole Point, Kailua Kona, Captain Cook and Honaunau. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 5:15 pm if Heavy Rain persists.
