HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rainbow Wahine outside hitter Emily Hartong was named the Big West Conference player of the week, Monday.
It was the second straight week the All-American has picked up the honors. In three matches last weekend, Hartong averaged 4.18 kills and 3.09 digs per set and led UH to three road victories at the Shocker Volleyball Classic.
Hartong leads the conference in kills per set at 4.70.
UH hosts an exhibition match on Wednesday, Sept. 25, against Japanese professional team Toyota Auto Body, then opens Big West play at home against Cal State Fullerton on Friday and UC Riverside on Sunday.
