Dismembered remains found in Mililani identified

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Alex "Pirotton" Gonzales was a fisherman, a former Marine and the father of an 13-year-old boy.

Medical Examiners identified the Palolo resident's gruesome remains, which were discovered near a cemetery in Mililani on Sunday.

"He was my best friend, my mother, and my father all in one person and I would do anything for him. He's the love of my life," sister Hillary Schell said.

Brother-in-law Frankie Bacon added:

"He was a good dude bro, he had a wife, a kid and loved them. He loved to surf. He was in the service because he loved his country."

Gonzales's remains were found Sunday near Mililani Memorial Park in pieces, with his torso and arm in a garbage bag.

His sister vowed to bring those responsible to justice.

"Whoever did this to him I pray to God that they pay for this because my brother did not deserve this," Schell said.

Gonzales was hardly a model citizen. In 2004, he was sentenced to five years for driving a stolen car. He was convicted of property damage last year and harassment this past January.

"He might have some trouble with the law but everybody makes mistakes once in a while you know. It wasn't like he was a repeat offender," said Bacon.

"He loved that island ... He loved fishing, he loved surfing. He found freedom out there."

Gonzales is survived by his mother and sister and two brothers and a 13-year-old son in California.

Police are asking anyone with information on this apparent murder to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
