One man was killed and a woman was injured in a motorcycle wreck Saturday evening, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m., on US Route 6.
Deputies say the motorcycle struck a railroad crossing gate near Weston, Ohio,causing the bike to run off the north side of the road and land in a field.
Witnesses say the crossing gate was down and its lights were flashing.
The driver, 62-year-old Robert Theis, of Bells, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, 50-year-old Donette Powers, of Weston, Ohio, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Theis was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
