EASTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -

Eastlake police are working to bust an apparent theft ring targeting elderly shoppers.

Police say Kelli Jones, 49, turned herself into authorities on Friday after police arrested her 54-year-old accomplice Michael Sailes on Sept 10.

The two are accused of diverting the attention of elderly female shoppers (70's - 80's), while an accomplice would steal their wallets, credit cards and/or checkbooks.

The crimes happened in Eastlake on June 12 and 16, and also on July 22.

Jones is charged with three counts of felony complicity to theft, one misdemeanor count of misuse of credit card, and three additional misdemeanor counts of complicity to theft.

Sailes is charged with three counts of felony theft, one misdemeanor count of misuse of credit card, and two additional misdemeanor counts of theft. He also has a felony warrant issued by another agency.

They are both being held at the Lake County Jail.

Police are searching for a third suspect.
