HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An arson investigation was opened late Tuesday night after a two alarm fire destroyed a two-story unit at a condominium in Moili'ili.

The fire reportedly started at around 9 p.m. on University Avenue in the Ala Wai Plaza condo.

"One person was in the unit, however he was out," said Capt. Terry Seelig. "He was later arrested by police, but we're still beginning our fire investigation so we're looking at where the fire started and how."

The entire apartment complex was reportedly evacuated because of the fire.

A damage estimate was not immediately available, but officials say the two story unit was destroyed.
