Magnitude-6.5 quake hits Guatemala coastline

A 6.5-magnitude earthquake has shaken Guatemala's Pacific coastline.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter was 3 miles (6 kilometers) south of Pajapita, and 168 kilometers west of Guatemala City. It had a depth of 67 kilometers (41 miles).

The quake was felt strongly in the capital, but authorities have not reported any immediate damages.

The earthquake was not strong enough to generate a tsunami threat to Hawaii.
