Search for suspects underway after Kalihi stabbing

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have opened an attempted murder investigation and are looking for as many as four suspects after a 39-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in Kalihi on Friday morning.

According to police, the stabbing victim approached a group of people on Akepo Lane near the intersection at North King Street just before 1:35 a.m. Some kind of confrontation occurred, and the man was reportedly stabbed multiple times.

Witnesses say that the suspects fled the scene, and one of the individuals may have had a knife. Police officials told Hawaii News Now that the victim was in possession of his belongings after the stabbing and that robbery did not appear to be a motive in the stabbing.

Officials say the victim is now in serious but stable condition.
