Crews investigate overnight arson cases

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu police and fire department officials are investigating separate arson cases that occurred in Honolulu early Wednesday morning and have issued an all points bulletin for two possible suspects.

Witnesses at the scene tell Hawaii News Now that a man wearing a black hoodie was seen dumping some sort of liquid near Stewart's Auto Service on Kawaiahao Street at around 2:07 a.m. The witness says flames appeared a short time later.

Honolulu Fire Department crews had to cut open a gate to gain entrance to the auto shop, where an Acura and a Scion vehicle were reportedly on fire.

The witness says he saw a vehicle, possibly a Nissan Altima, fleeing the scene of the fire.

Around ten minutes later, a second arson case was reported on Pacific Heights Road. A Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson told Hawaii News Now that a Nissan Altima matching the description of the vehicle at the first scene was also spotted at the second scene.
