HONOLULU (AP) - Oahu fishermen will get an opportunity to air their concerns before the chairman of the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.
DLNR Chairman William Aila Jr. will listen to fishermen and answer questions at an informal "talk story" session on Sept. 4. The department says similar sessions have taken place on other islands and have been well-attended.
Aila says he hopes to work with the fishing community to come up with solutions to Hawaii fishing issues.
Fishermen are asked to help spread the word about next week's meeting.
