HONOLULU (AP) - Two people are recovering from injuries suffered in a helicopter crash in a pineapple field.
Navy spokeswoman Agnes Tauyan tells the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that the Federal Fire Department and Honolulu police responded to a distress call at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in a pineapple field a mile south of Wheeler Army Airfield.
She says a civilian pilot and a passenger were able to get out of the downed helicopter on their own.
Emergency responders treated the two men at the scene and transported them to a hospital for additional evaluation and treatment.
