Three dozen arrests made in joint warrant sweep

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - 36 people were arrested for 47 outstanding warrants during a sweep operation.

The Honolulu Police Department, U.S. Marshals Service, and Hawaii Fugitive Task Force, which is comprised of the Deputy U.S. Marshals and Hawaii State Sheriffs, conducted a joint warrant sweep operation on Oahu.

The operation began on August 20, 2013, and ended Thursday.

The sweep targeted parole or probation violators and those with criminal outstanding warrants that included drugs, firearms, and sexual offenses.

Three of the thirty-six were arrested for additional drug offenses.  The bail amount for all suspects totaled $765,410.  That number does not include the four suspects who had warrants with no bail.
