Jury in Deedy trial heads home after third full day with no verdict

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Update:  The jury has gone home after a third full day of deliberations without reaching a verdict.  They will reconvene tomorrow morning.

The jury in Christopher Deedy's murder trial is back to work.

The twelve-person panel returned to the jury room at about 9:30 this morning.

They're trying to decide if Deedy, a federal agent, murdered Kolllin Elderts during a struggle in a Waikiki McDonald's in November, 2011.

He claims he shot the Kailua man in self defense.

The jury deliberated for three hours last Thursday and all day Monday and Tuesday.

A guilty verdict carries a penalty of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

When a verdict is reached we will carry it live on HawaiiNewsNow.com
