Big Island police crack down on drunk driving

Big Island police have begun a drunk driving initiative intended to promote driver and pedestrian safety.

Through September 2, police officers will be participating in the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.

Officials say officers will conduct about 30 sobriety checkpoints across the Big Island during the campaign.
