Sun Exposure and Children

In Hawaii our keiki (hawaiian for children) enjoy the benefits of living in a beautiful and warm environment, lending itself to days at the beach and numerous outdoor activities that keep them in the suns rays for hours at a time. It is crucial that we begin practicing skin protection with our children at an early age. Sun damage can begin when you are a toddler and can  show up later in life.

Protect your keiki's skin by ensuring you cover them with age appropriate broad spectrum skin protection and reapply as needed based on the amount of time they will be in the sun.  Rash guards, hats and other protective clothing will also assist in preventing overexposure to the sun.
