(HawaiiNewsNow) - A new local reality TV competition will be showing off some of the most beautiful vampires in Hawaii. "Miss Vamp Hawaii, The Reality Show" is set to premiere on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. on KFVE, the Home Team. The show will run every Saturday for a total of 26 weeks.
"Miss Vamp Hawaii, The Reality Show" will highlight the creators and producers of Miss Vamp Hawaii, DJ Nocturna and Lana Saldania and some of the Miss Vamp Hawaii beauty contestants -- past and present -- and the current and previous title holders of Miss Vamp Hawaii in a reality series filmed and produced in Honolulu.
Miss Vamp Hawaii is a beauty pageant created in 2010 by DJ Nocturna and produced yearly by DJ Nocturna and Lana Saldania, but unlike other traditional beauty pageants, it is a beauty pageant for women with a special passion and love for the night.
Miss Vamp Hawaii, created in Hawai,i is the first of its kind in Hawaii and in the world. Similar to other pageants, it features the traditional Q&A portion, a gown/costume competition, crowning the winners with sashes, trophies and prizes. However, unique to this pageant, Miss Vamp Hawaii features a "Moon Bathing Lingerie Competition," because vampires don't sunbathe, they moonbathe, which differs from the bathing suit competition which traditional beauty pageants have.
Miss Vamp Hawaii is held yearly at the historic Hawaii Theatre and this year it is on October 10, 2013. Going on its 4th year, the pageant has grown in interest and popularity with the local community. Miss Vamp Hawaii has a following that continues to grow with new fans and continued supporters. Miss Vamp Hawaii is open to all women, which ranges from different cultures, various backgrounds, nationalities and age groups. This pageant was created especially for women who may not necessarily feel they belong in traditional beauty pageants because they are unique in their interests, their beauties and in their passions in life. From its inception in 2010, their performances are theatrical and their costumes beautiful and glamorous, made for the theatre stage, an experience one will never forget.
