Perseid meteor shower to peak Sunday night, Monday morning

The Perseid meteor shower will be at its best Sunday night and into Monday morning. The shower has been active since July 17 and will continue to be until August 24.

According to astronomy website EarthSky.org, the best time to view the prolific meteor shower is in the dark hours before dawn on August 11, 12, and 13. However, it will be at its peak on Monday between midnight and dawn.

We would like to invite our viewers to share their photos of the meteor shower and post them on our Facebook page. You can also post them on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #hnnmeteorshower.

So if you are planning to watch the shower's peak, be sure to set your alarms Sunday night. Weather permitting, it should be a beautiful show.
