HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Three moped accidents occurred Friday night -- all within a two hour period.
The first happened just before 9 p.m. on 10th Avenue. According to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the 22-year-old moped rider struck an unknown stationary object and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. He was not wearing a helmet.
At around 9:30 p.m., EMS officials said a 50-year-old man was taken to the hospital, also in serious condition, after crashing at the intersection of Ala Wai Boulevard and Ainakea Way. He too was not wearing a helmet.
The string of moped accidents ended with one on Kalanianaole Highway when a 24-year-old woman was reported to be in serious condition after her accident.
The roads were slick Friday night and that moisture will continue to affect our roadway conditions throughout Saturday.
