ESPN is reporting that the NCAA is investigating Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and allegations that he was paid to sign hundreds of autographs and other sports memorabilia in January while in Florida for the BCS National Championship Game.
"Outside the Lines," an ESPN program, was the first to break the news.
The article writes that three different sources say Manziel signed photographs, footballs, mini football helmets and other items at the request of an autograph broker named Drew Tieman. The article goes on to say that Tieman approached Manziel while he was in a Fort Lauderdale airport on January 6th. Sources told ESPN that Manziel visited Tieman's residence and signed hundreds of items.
If Manziel is found to be in violation of NCAA Bylaw 188.8.131.52, he could be ruled ineligible to play football for the upcoming season.
