City's newest paramedics celebrate graduation

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The City and County of Honolulu's 2013 Class of Mobile Intensive Care Technicians (MICTs) celebrated their graduation ceremony Saturday.

The 11 graduating paramedics underwent 15 months of intensive classroom and field training to become nationally certified paramedics.

Prior to their studying as MICTs, the students were Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) working on the city ambulance.

Friends and family gathered during the ceremony at the Kapiolani Community College's 'Ohi'a Cafeteria, where the city's newest paramedics were recognized.
