EASTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -
A man claiming to be looking for his lost dog tried to abduct a 12-year-old boy in Eastlake.
It happened in the 3500 block of Lakomis Drive on Saturday around 10:30 p.m.
19 Action News has learned the suspect drove up to the child claiming he lost his dog and needed help finding it. The child refused, and that's when the suspect got out of his vehicle and tried to grab him. The boy was able to escape on his bicycle.
The suspect is described as thin, tall white man in his 50s with gray or blond hair and a beard. He was wearing jeans, a white tank top and flip flops. The suspect also had tattoos going down both arms and fresh scratches down one side of his face.
The suspect was driving a red Chevy pick-up truck with a bright red cap. The driver's side headlight is broken and the vehicle has dents to the body and is rusty. According to the child, there was no license plate on the front or back of the truck.
