Japanese visitor nearly drowns at Hanauma Bay

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 64-year-old Japanese visitor snorkeling at Hanauma Bay nearly drowned Thursday afternoon.

She was found unresponsive face down in about three to four feet of water, according to Emergency Medical Services. The woman was pulled from the water around 12 p.m. 

Lifeguards brought her out of the water and performed CPR and were able to get back a pulse. The woman taken to the hospital in critical condition.
