WAILUKU, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Police on Maui arrested three men following a brazen early morning robbery in Wailuku.

Shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday, police say two masked men entered the Minit Stop convenience store. One of the suspects was carrying a gun, the other a pipe. The men demanded money, but they ran away after hearing police sirens.

Both suspects were caught a short time later. A third man, who police say was the lookout and getaway driver, was also arrested.

On Thursday, Joyner Recheungel and Rowan Sombelon were each formally charged with robbery in the first degree and three counts of terroristic threatening in the first degree.

Stanceford Kaina, Jr. was charged with first degree robbery, and his bail was set at $50,000 because he is currently on probation stemming from an incident in 2011.
