HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Honolulu police are investigating the murder of a woman in her fifties who was discovered bound and gagged inside of a carpet in the driveway of a Punahou Street home on Tuesday.
The woman's ex-husband had reportedly come to her house at around 7 p.m. and flagged down a security guard who worked at the building next door when he was unable to find her or her car.
The security guard said the man told her he last had dinner with her Saturday night and was worried about her. The security guard called police after the two of them reported smelling a foul odor and then discovered the body inside the carpet.
Police recovered the woman's 2013 silver Mercedes at Kapiolani Park early this morning and will be searching the vehicle for evidence that could assist in the investigation.
It is unclear at this time how long the woman has been dead, investigators say. A police source told Hawaii News Now she may have died two or three days ago.
