HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Honolulu says that the western and central portions of the state could see a thunderstorm Monday night.
NWS tweeted Monday that there is a "slight chance of a thunderstorm/heavy showers later today. Mainly the western half of the state and leeward Big Island."
Forecasters say clouds and showers will move onto Oahu Monday afternoon then onto Kauai Monday evening.
Forecasters say the instability may trigger a few heavier showers and a possible thunderstorm.
