Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) fire investigators have completed their investigation of the fire at 1095 South Beretania Street and have classified the cause of the fire as incendiary.
Results of the HFD investigation have been referred to Honolulu Police Department (HPD) arson investigators.
The fire destroyed an older, unoccupied home. There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $225,000.
The fire occurred on July 20 at 5:50 p.m. HFD fought the two-alarm fire with six engines, two ladders, a rescue unit and a battalion chief – approximately 45 firefighters.

Crews from the Honolulu Fire Department are investigating a building fire in the 1000 Block of South Beretania Street.
The fire broke out in a vacant home near Auntie Pasto's Restaurant at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses say they have recently seen homelss people in the now destroyed building.
Fire fighters took about 40 minutes to put out the flames.
Honolulu police closed South Beretania and Young Street from Pensacola to Victoria Street, but re-opened all lanes just before 9 p.m.
No injuries were reported, and no damage was done to any surrounding structures.
The cause of the fire and the damage total remain under investigation.
