9-year-old boy dead after possible drowning

GRAND RAPIDS, OH (Toledo News Now) -

An apparent drowning death is under investigation in Grand Rapids, Ohio.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says it happened on the 22000 block of West Poe Road, around 9:15 p.m.

The sheriff's dive team, along with firefighters and deputies, reportedly pulled a 9-year-old boy from the water around 10:30 p.m.

As rescue workers rushed the child to the ER, he was pronounced dead in route.

An investigation is ongoing.
