The clock is ticking…the UH Football team opens pre-season camp in less than 60 days and a quick 90 days from now they will have already played two very formidable opponents in highly ranked USC and Oregon State!

And also within the next 90 days, Dave Shoji, Head Coach of the Rainbow Wahine, will have most likely secured the three wins necessary to make him the "winning-est coach", in all sports, in NCAA history with over 1,100 victories!

Much has been written, talked about and speculated upon, regarding the fates and fortunes of the UH Athletic Department in recent weeks, and its financial future.  No doubt, many, if not all, of the university's administration and the Board of Regents would welcome having successful teams - men's and women's - in their respective arenas, playing fields, and stadiums.  So would the fans…

That said, I have every confidence that all of the coaching staff and players will do their best to compete successfully.  That is a reasonable expectation of the players and coaches.  But what is a reasonable expectation of our community as the "Fan Base" for the Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine?  The answer isn't complicated – buy a ticket and go the game.

One of the key variables in any home game for any team is competing in front of "your fans" decidedly biased and cheering for you all the way.  The notion of a home-field advantage, begins and ends, with the home-field crowd.

Season ticket sales are beginning shortly up at UH – for the players and coaches, our University, and for Hawaii.  Please – support our teams and go to the games.  It will be time and money well spent.
