HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man in his twenties was taken to the hospital in critical condition late Thursday night after he was hit by a Waikiki trolley while crossing the street, according to a Honolulu Emergency Medical Services spokesperson.
The victim, who was not identified, was reportedly crossing the street near the intersection of Ala Moana Blvd. And Kamekee St. when he was hit. He was not believed to have been in a crosswalk.
"The man initially died at the scene and was revived... And remains in critical condition at the Queen's Medical Center," said Lt. Robert Towne of the Honolulu Police Department.
Police do not believe speed or alcohols were factors in the crash.
