MAKAHA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17, the Board of Water Supply (BWS) must close two lanes at a time on Farrington Highway, between Princess Kahanu Avenue and Mohihi Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.
The lane closures are necessary for BWS crews to install a new water service line for Ulehawa Beach Park.
On July 16, the two makai, Honolulu-bound lanes on Farrington Highway fronting Ulehawa Beach Park will be closed. On July 17, crews will be closing the two mauka, Waianae-bound lanes. A contraflow will be in effect both days to allow one open lane of traffic in each direction. Traffic signs will be in place to notify motorists of the lane closures and special duty officers have been requested to help direct traffic.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area, if possible. Motorists should exercise caution while driving through the work area and to expect traffic delays during this period.
