Tonight on HNN: Typhoon Soulik, Kailua Fatal Stabbing, Aiea Fire

 

Coming up tonight at 5 & 5:30..

  TYPHOON CAUSES MINIMAL DAMAGE

   Typhoon Soulik hit Taiwan overnight. Fortunately, the category 1 storm only caused minimal damage. The second Hawaiian Airlines flight from Taipei is set to depart at 8 p.m. Hawaii time tonight, and arrive at Honolulu at 6:15 a.m. Saturday morning. Chris Tanaka has more details & Guy tells us where the storm is heading next. 

  DEADLY KAILUA STABBING

  An investigation is underway tonight after a man in his 50's was stabbed to death at Kailua District Park. Officers arrested 48-year-old Brian Kim.  Ramsay Wharton spoke to residents who are concerned about the violence in the park.

  AIEA TOWNHOUSE FIRE

  A townhouse fire in Aiea sent a woman to the hospital in serious condition.  The 48-year-old suffered smoke inhalation while trying to escape the blaze. The fire broke out just after 6:45 this morning on Ualo Street. 

  FA-18s IN KANEOHE

  A new squadron from Fort Worth, Texas has arrived and they're bringing with them their FA-18 jets. As Tim Sakahara reports, they'll be training at the Marine Corps Base in Kaneohe and not everyone is happy about it.

  ARSENIC IN APPLE JUICE

  And..at 5:30 on KHNL, parents who've been worried about the levels of arsenic found in apple juice can soon feel better about buying one of their kids' favorite drinks.
