Seattle (HawaiiNewsNow) - Shane Victorino is one in a long line of Hawaii born players to play in the Major Leagues, but now he stands at the head of the line in run production.
The St. Anthony alum drove in a pair of runs (2-4, .291 avg this season) versus the Mariners Wednesday night, giving him 433 career RBI, two more than Mike Lum who held the previous record for most RBI in the MLB by a Hawaii born player.
Victorino is in his 10th season in the bigs and first with the Boston Red Sox. The Wailuku native reached the mark in his 1,136th career game, by comparison, Lum played in 1,517 games over a 16-year career.
