Celebrating the 12th Annual Korean Festival in Hawaii

Take in the Korean culture from the past and the present at the 12th Annual Korean Festival this Friday and Saturday. The Korean Festival will have the best flavors of Korea, entertainment, culture exhibits and a first-time movie night called 'Sunset in the Park'.

The event is free and open to the public. Food booths open at 4:00pm, and the movie will begin at 7:00pm on Friday only. The movie being shown is titled "Masquerade" and is the 4th highest grossing movie ever in South Korea, and swept the 49th Korean Grand Bell Awards, winning in 15 categories, including Best Film, Director, Screenplay and Actor. The movie was released last year in South Korea.

On Saturday, the festival will run from 10:00am to 10:00pm, presenting a unique, authentic taste of Korean culture through food, dance, art, music, and entertainment. The program of festival events includes performances such as taekwondo (Korean martial arts) demonstration, Korean fan and drum dances, and a tradition folk song show of iconic standing by renown artist, Jung Eui Jin.

Free parking is available around Kapiolani Park and at Kapiolani Community College (KCC). A free shuttle will be available for those that park at KCC.
