HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police closed the Pali Highway in the northbound direction Saturday night after a man was hit by a motor vehicle.
Emergency Medical Services says a 24-year-old man was transported to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.
The incident happened at about 10:40 p.m. The man, who has a Marine Corps Base Hawaii address, was walking along the Pali Highway on the Kailua-bound side just before the tunnels when he was struck.
Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the case of the driver. It is unknown if alocohol was a factor with the victim.
The Pali Highway was reopened in both directions at about 2 a.m. Sunday. Police say their investigation on the incident is ongoing.
