HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Honolulu police re-opened Ward Avenue in all directions after crews finished repairs on downed utility poles.
Several roads near Ward Avenue were closed Friday because of two downed poles, according to police and Hawaiian Electric Company officials.
At around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, a downed utility pole at Lunalilo St. and Ward Ave. caused a power outage affected approximately 4,000 customers in the Makiki and Punchbowl area. The downed utility pole caused another pole to lean, and officials were forced to replace and rewire both poles.
Power was completely restored to all customers at around 5:50 a.m. on Friday.
