NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A pair of convicted felons are jailed after police say they participated in a cocaine transaction with undercover officers.

Police said convicted cocaine felon Bruce Butler, 34, met the officers Tuesday at a south Nashville motel, where he agreed to purchase a kilogram of cocaine for $29,000.

After the drugs and cash exchanged hands, Butler was arrested, along with the man who accompanied him to the deal, 38-year-old Harry Summers.

Butler is charged with engaging in a drug conspiracy and possession of the kilogram of cocaine for resale.

Summers, who is also a convicted cocaine felon, is charged with engaging in a drug conspiracy, possessing powder cocaine and marijuana and three counts of failure to appear in court.

Police said Butler was jailed on $300,000 bond while bond for Summers was set at $385,000.
