Several homes, a neighborhood park and an elementary school in Makakilo are without water Tuesday morning after an 8 inch main break on Anipeahi Street, according to the Honolulu Board of Water Supply.
The break happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday.
Makakilo Elementary School, which is not believed to be in session due to summer break, is one of the affected customers, as is the adjacent park.
Anipeahi Street is closed in both directions as crews conduct repairs, but there are several alternate routes in the area. A water wagon is currently located near the Diamond Head side of the school.
Repairs are expected to continue into the morning.
Officials say the water main was first installed in 1965.
