Ambulance strikes fallen tree in Union County with patient on board

UNIONVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) -

Three people in Union County were rushed to the hospital after an ambulance, with a patient on board, crashed into a fallen tree early Saturday morning.

According to officials. the incident happened along Morgan Mill Road just before 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Three people, including a patient, were taken to the hospital, but they are expected to be okay according to North Carolina Highway Patrol. 

Crews from the Unionville Fire Department were able to clear the road quickly.

The area has seen a lot of rain over the past few days.
