Pearl Harbor-based destroyer returns home Pearl Harbor-based destroyer returns home June 23, 2013 at 12:36 PM HST - Updated July 25 at 10:28 AM JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (AP) - Hawaii-based destroyer USS Paul Hamilton is home after a nine-month deployment. The guided-missile destroyer returned to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Monday. Navy Region Hawaii says the crew deployed in September and has been conducting a wide array of operations including counter-terrorism and combating transnational crime. The deployment also included a port visit in Manila, where 24 Filipino-American Sailors were able to spend time with their families and friends who live in the Philippines.
